Friday Morning Forecast: Storms could bring strong windsALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Heat advisories, wildfire smoke and a risk of strong storms with 60 mph wind gusts remain in New Mexico as hot weather continues. KOB 4 meteorologist Amanda Goluszka describes little change in the forecast as the monsoon and heat high slowly shifts north toward the Four Corners. Heat will continue across the same areas under afternoon and evening heat advisories, while light to moderate wildfire smoke will keep skies hazy in parts of the state. Northeast and east-central New Mexico could see stronger storms between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m., with the main threat coming from damaging wind gusts over 60 mph. The monsoon and heat high should stay in about the same place through the next day or so, though it may weaken slightly.
