Published 10:28 am Friday, August 7, 2026William Jackson May Jr. passed away on Monday, August 3, in Lexington, Kentucky. Bill was born in Lexington on July 18, 1963, to William Jackson May Sr. and Bettie Lee Barberick May. He is survived by his father; his two sisters, Elizabeth Lee Bates and Mary Melissa Shelton; and his nephews, Alexander Coleman Bates, William Kirk Shelton and Benjamin Richmond Shelton. A truly unique individual, Bill was a farmer and entrepreneur, the Paw Paw King of Woodford. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, at the Independence Cemetery in Independence, Kentucky.
