With a need for a bulky/bruiser type of big man, the Tar Heels found some viable options, but ultimately honed in on one in particular. On Friday, the Tar Heels got a commitment from him, and they hope he will be eligible to play for the 2026-2027 season. If his eligibility status remains where it currently is, the Tar Heels have just landed a big-time piece to the frontcourt depth. With all the scoring ability that Malone and his staff brought in this offseason, the Tar Heels don't need Fens to be their top scoring threat. With the addition of Fens, the UNC basketball program's roster for the 2026-2027 season seems to now be officially finalized.
