Canada’s half marathon record holder Rory Linkletter unveiled his fall race schedule on Thursday, with a busy stretch beginning at the Canadian Half Marathon Championships on Aug. 16. At the 2025 championships, Linkletter edged out the Canadian marathon record holder by one second, winning in 1:03:00 to Levins’s 1:03:01. Following his bucket-list race, Linkletter is expected to represent Canada in the half marathon at the World Road Running Championships in Copenhagen, pending official selection. As the Canadian half marathon record holder, Linkletter is expected to be named to the team. When he wrote that he was “chasing history” in his announcement on Instagram, many may have thought he was referring to the Canadian marathon record.
