Harris County Sheriff's OfficeA Liberty County Jail inmate who escaped last month was apprehended Wednesday in Mukilteo, Washington, located near Seattle, less than 100 miles from the Canadian border, according to the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. Reyes was previously transported to the Liberty County Jail from Madison County on an outstanding felony warrant for alleged unlawful disclosure or promotion of intimate visual material, according to the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office told Houston Public Media in a statement after his escape that Reyes also had an active immigration detainer. The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division conducted the investigation into the escape and found the correctional officer, who has not been named, committed no criminal wrongdoing, the sheriff's office said.
