Mexico’s Football Federation (FMF) broke ranks with its regional confederation, CONCACAF, which had earlier called for a “comprehensive reckoning” with Infantino’s presidency.
Argentina also threw its weight behind the FIFA president.
The controversy erupted after FIFA unveiled plans to establish the FIFA Forward Enterprise, a commercial subsidiary that would have managed competitions including the FIFA World Cup while raising billions of dollars through private investment.
Following widespread criticism over the consultation process, FIFA withdrew the proposal and apologised to member associations, promising to review its internal procedures.
UEFA has maintained its hardline stance against the FIFA president, while Croatia joined England and Albania in withdrawing support for his leadership.
