On Thursday, July 30, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) arrested a man in Langley who was the subject of a Canada-wide warrant for murder out of Winnipeg. The arrest was led by CFSEU-BC’s Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET), with support from CFSEU-BC investigative teams. Following the arrest, Horimbere was transferred to the custody of the Winnipeg Police Service. Its homicide unit has been investigating the July 13, 2024, homicide of Mohamed Yusuf Abdullahi, 22, of Winnipeg. The homicide unit determined the victim had just finished playing and was exiting the event when he was fatally shot.
