Over the past decade, Pembroke Real Estate has converted Boston's Commonwealth Pier — originally built in 1913 and once known as the Seaport World Trade Center — into a year-round destination with offices, retail, public spaces, and a public Harbor Walk. According to a NewsCenter 5 WCVB report, the decade-long transformation has shifted the Boston landmark's use from an impersonal convention center into a multi-use hub featuring new offices, restaurants, and public art spaces. The Harbor Walk itself provides year-round access and a link between the pier and the waterfront for residents and visitors. As WCVB notes, public art installations, such as the Glistening Whale's Tail, add cultural appeal to the site. This summer, Commonwealth Pier was visited by tall ships from around the world during Sail Boston 2026.
