Design work continues on the forthcoming 2.3-mile Pomona to Claremont A Line extension. Parsons Transportation Group is the design and engineering services contractor on the project, working with construction manager SSH Joint Venture, which includes Skanska USA Civil West California District Inc., Stacy and Witbeck, Inc. and Herzog Contracting Corp.Parsons notified SSH construction manager of its progress last month. “With this feedback in hand, Parsons is now working on advancing the design to 60%, anticipated to be submitted for review in January 2027. The project design will then advance to 85% and 100%, before ultimately reaching ‘Approved for Construction’ drawings.” Ongoing work to inform the design includes data collection on “existing utilities, drainage, track slope elevations and other existing conditions throughout the corridor,” according to the news release.
