A Pattonsburg man entered a guilty plea to amended charges in Daviess County on Aug. 5 after waiving formal arraignment. However, the plea was rejected when the court determined the facts presented were inconsistent with a finding of guilt. Online court records indicate prosecutors dismissed two counts and amended another charge as part of a proposed plea agreement. In return for the guilty plea, the prosecution recommended that the court place the defendant on probation following completion of a sentencing assessment report. The defendant remains charged with the felonies of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, abuse or neglect of a child, and third-degree domestic assault.
