It mimics a surgeon’s movements into highly precise micro-movements.
India’s KIMS Hospital has launched Thane city's very first VELYS Robotic System, which aims to help surgeons navigate complex surgeries more accurately.
Operating from a console that provides a magnified 3D high-definition view of the surgical area, the system acts as an extension of a surgeon’s hands.
These arms translate the doctor's natural hand movements into highly precise micro-movements, which helps reduce surgical trauma and supports a smoother recovery.
From a procedural standpoint, Sarang Deshpande, consultant for orthopaedics and joint replacement, said the console is designed ergonomically, which helps reduce the physical fatigue surgeons experience during long surgeries.
