With the trade deadline passed, the Pirates have provided a huge injury update and a possible timeline for his return, according to Pirates beat writer Alex Stumpf. “Pirates center fielder Oneil Cruz is starting a rehab assignment today with Triple-A Indianapolis, per source,” Stumpf wrote on X. Before his injury, Cruz was on a tear, hitting .264 with 14 home runs, 44 RBIs, and 45 runs over 64 games.
