Here at the Brown County Museum of History, we are privileged to preserve the stories of six Purple Heart recipients whose service and sacrifice are forever woven into the history of our community:Sgt.
Elman Adair Anderson, USMC – Killed in Action, World War IICpl.
James “Jamie” W. Fisher, USAF – Missing in Action, World War IIPM1 Robert Glenn Smith, USN – Missing in Action, World War IILouis Alexander Kirksey Jr., USA – Wounded in World War II and returned home to Brown CountySgt.
Lewis Benjamin Goins, USA – Killed in Action, World War IITheir stories remind us that freedom has always come at a tremendous cost.
Today, we remember these six heroes, along with every Purple Heart recipient throughout our nation’s history.
