The launch coincided with the 12th National Handloom Day and was held virtually from the Chief Minister’s Residential Complex in Kohima.
The scheme aims to provide natural yarn to weavers at mill-gate prices, with the state government offering a 15 percent subsidy.
He noted that National Handloom Day is more than a celebration of traditional craft it is a tribute to a living heritage that embodies the identity, culture, and spirit of the Naga people.
By ensuring steady access to subsidised yarn, the government hopes to empower local weavers, sustain traditional practices, and expand opportunities for the handloom sector across the state.
