Tuesday's Newcastle Herald featured a full-page advertisement on page seven from the Insurance Council of Australia pointing out that NSW homes and businesses are paying more for their insurance because of a hidden tax.
The Emergency Services Levy (ESL) is a hidden tax that adds 18 to 34 per cent onto insurance premiums in NSW.
Every other state has dropped it except NSW, so why are we waiting?
We all know that the price of insurance has gone through the roof.
Together, we all can hopefully scrap this hidden tax.
