Vivek Ramaswamy Booed, Forced To Leave StagePhoto: Screengrab/social mediaIndia-West News DeskCLEVELAND, OH – Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy was booed repeatedly during an appearance at the Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) national convention on July 29, underscoring his sometimes uneasy relationship with parts of the conservative movement as he campaigns in one of the country’s closest governor’s races.
The former Republican presidential candidate was scheduled to speak for about 30 minutes but left the stage after roughly 14 minutes as audience members repeatedly interrupted him with boos and heckling.
At one point, Ramaswamy dismissed the interruptions, telling a heckler, “You want to give a speech?
Ramaswamy received applause when he praised capitalism, calling it “the best system known to man to lift people up from poverty.”
One attendee shouted profanities at him, and Ramaswamy ended his remarks shortly afterward, leaving the stage to another round of boos.
