Apple has released macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, a rapid security update that addresses a serious vulnerability in the built-in Screen Sharing feature. Screen Sharing allows users to view and control another Mac remotely over a local network or the internet. The vulnerability could allow an attacker on the same network to authenticate to Screen Sharing without valid credentials. The company has not indicated whether the flaw was being actively exploited in the wild. The same Screen Sharing bug affects earlier macOS versions, so Apple also issued companion security updates: macOS Sequoia 15.7.9 and macOS Sonoma 14.8.9. ‎MacDailyNews Take: Given the potential for unauthorized remote access, installing macOS Tahoe 26.6.1 (or the relevant update for older systems) promptly is advised.
