LYNCHBURG, Va. — Despite another big game by outfielder Brailyn Antunez and a two-hit night for infielder Filippo Di Turi in his return to the team, the Wilson Warbirds lost 12-5 to the host Hill City Howlers in game 2 of their Single-A Carolina League series Wednesday night, Aug. 5, at City Stadium. The Warbirds, 53-48 overall and 17-18 in the second half, took a 3-0 lead in the second inning. Antunez led off with a double and scored on a Hill City error before Di Turi fetched another run with a sacrifice fly. Montero singled and advanced on three wild pitches by Hill City reliever Angel Perez. NEXTLeft-hander Enderson Mercado (4-7, 7.91 ERA) will start on the mound for Wilson in game 3 of the series Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. against Hill City RHP Will Hynes (0-3, 6.05).
