Betty Baker, retired United Way of Wilson County assistant director, received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest honor North Carolina’s governor can bestow, in recognition of her 57 years of service to United Way of Wilson County.
Baker was joined by family members and United Way staff for the presentation.
“Betty Baker has devoted her life to supporting our community,” Pittman said.
“Wilson would not be where it is today without the support of the United Way,” Pittman continued.
The United Way would not be what it is without the incredible people that work there, and Betty Baker has been chief among them.
