James Sutherland made contact with the online profile of “12-year-old Molly” and sent her disgusting sexual messages, as well as asking her to travel to Edinburgh to meet up with him. Ms Adams told the court that Operation Overview was an online Police Scotland operation with a focus on child grooming. Sutherland had made contact with an undercover operative on July 21 last year. He arranged a time to meet the child on July 29 last year and was subsequently met at the busy Capital train station by police officers. Sheriff Jackson also said that Sutherland’s name would be added to the sex offenders' register for an indefinite period.
