A wildfire burning through Mount Bromo National Park in East Java, Indonesia, has destroyed more than 120 hectares of land since it broke out Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, local disaster officials said Friday. The blaze, one of the largest to hit the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park since a 2023 fire scorched more than 500 hectares, comes as Indonesia enters an intensified dry season linked to El Nino.
