Emergency services mounted a major response to an incident in Oxford Road, between the city centre and Cowley last night (Thursday, August 6) at around 5pm. Police issue update after major emergency response in Oxford city centre (Image: Maya Khanom)Onlookers reported as many as seven emergency vehicles at the scene, including two ambulances, two ambulance cars, two police vans and a police car. A spokesperson for the force said it was responding to a "minor road traffic collision" between a car and a motorcycle at the junction with Edmund Road, off Oxford Road. The incident caused major congestion, which reportedly cleared by around 7.30pm.
