The police initially launched a murder investigation into the case and Morton Morton – Tia’s father – accompanied his daughter and her boyfriend to Bournemouth, where they checked into a hotel for the night. Michaela Pomeroy, now 33, and Morton Morton, 35, were both given 14 months in prison, with mother and daughter hugging as she was led away. Mr Morton had 36 previous convictions from 95 offences including multiple driving convictions and failing to surrender to custody.
