Moving On Inverclyde will host the event on Monday, September 7, with plans to run a marathon-length route through Inverclyde. Thirteen pairs of participants from the charity’s Functional Fitness Fanatics group will work together to complete the distance, passing a baton between teams. The relay aims to showcase the positive impact of physical activity in recovery while raising money for vital support services. The campaign is being promoted under the theme '26 Miles of Hope for those in recovery', with organisers stating that the baton represents the belief that "nobody walks alone." Funds raised will support recovery programmes, peer support services, and opportunities for people rebuilding their lives.
