The intentionally simple eyewear, created as a statement against the growing trend of AI-powered wearables, sold out within days of its release. Rather than offering smart features, the glasses provide only the basics: polarized lenses, UV400 protection, FDA-compliant impact resistance, and a matte black frame based on Knockaround’s Paso Robles design. DuckDuckGo said the sunglasses were designed as a satirical response to the rise of AI-equipped eyewear from major technology companies. The rapid sellout suggests there is growing consumer interest in products that deliberately avoid smart technology.
