Rakuten Mobile recently utilised Anthropic‘s Claude model as part of their efforts to expand the capabilities of its corporate generative AI service. Research capabilities cover collection and organisation of external information, a function Rakuten expects to help companies conduct market research, assess their competition and plan strategy. Rakuten expects the facility to help staff “without specialised data science backgrounds” with decision-making. Anthropic’s model adds to existing OpenAI ChatGPT-5 functions available on Rakuten AI for Business covering meeting summaries, creating emails and project planning. Rakuten emphasised its AI service is secure, with safeguards in place to prevent the technology accessing data without permission.
