Operation Krypton launched at the beginning of July and involves Gwent Police and partners, including Newport City Council and Hedyn, working together to improve safety in the city centre. Speaking to a police officer in the city centre, Mrs Morden said she was pleased to hear businesses were feeling happier after introduction of Operation Krypton. Posting on Face book Mrs Morden said: “Good to hear from businesses that things are feeling better in the city centre thanks to the introduction of Operation Krypton. “You will continue to see increased high-visibility patrols in the city centre and enforcement work across the city. “Our partnership approach has had a positive impact already in addressing anti-social behaviour (ASB) and associated crime in the city centre."
