Ben Corr, who drives for Stagecoach Midlands, received the company's Star of the Month award after stopping his bus and intervening when he saw a man on a bridge. According to Stagecoach, Mr Corr spoke calmly to the man, stayed with him and even offered some of his own food while providing reassurance and support. In recognition of his actions, Mr Corr was presented with a certificate and gift voucher by Stagecoach Midlands Operations Director Kam Gill. Mark Whitelocks, managing director of Stagecoach Midlands, said: "I am very proud of everything that Ben was able to do. Stagecoach Midlands said the award highlights the important role bus drivers can play within the communities they serve, both on and off the road.
