Heartwood Inns aims to transform the Lord Bute restaurant, Lymington Road, with the full planning proposal validated by the council in April 2026 and awaiting full approval.
The latest application is for listed building consent and details plans include demolishing a conservatory and orangery, turning the ground floor of the restaurant and an adjoining lodge structure into full hotel use, thus eliminating the restaurant entirely.
The conservatory on the building’s southern elevation is set to become a more permanent structure to house an additional hotel room, affecting access to the courtyard.
The Selfridges Suite will undergo slight internal changes, and the current hotel block will receive a minor refurbishment, which will include the addition of a ground-floor hotel room.
The proposal is up for consultation until August 21, under planning application number P/26/03494/LB.
