"A Young Carers Champion in every school would be a simple but life-changing step, ensuring there is someone responsible for identifying young carers and making sure they get the support they need." Estimates suggest there may be as many as one million young carers in the UK. The national campaign, supported by a public petition on the Change.org website, aims to make Young Carers Champions a requirement in every school in England. This would help ensure that young carers are identified earlier and can access support both inside and outside the classroom.
