The nearly six-hour cleanliness drive conducted from 6.30 am to 12 noon saw 83 tonnes of garbage cleared, involving backhoe loaders, 10 tipper lorries and five dozer vehicles. The garbage cleared included those of mixed waste, metals, plastic, building debris and others. The shopkeepers, scrap dealers, metal vendors and other commercial stalls on C.V. Road were instructed not to dispose waste in public places. They should segregate waste generated in their stalls and scientifically dispose them, as instructed by the MCC. Deputy Commissioner G.
