POLL RESULTS: We asked readers if they thought foreign residents should have a say in local politics and be able to vote in upcoming municipal elections (which all EU citizens are legally allowed to do). More than half of respondents agreed for people who live here and contribute to the community, and about a third think they should be able to vote only once they've gained permanent residence. About 10 percent believe local elections should be for citizens only.
