OSWEGO COUNTY – Oswego County STOP-DWI Coordinator David Hall reports that police agencies and STOP-DWI coordinators across the state continue their end-of-summer “High Visibility Engagement Campaign” Wednesday, Aug. 19 through Labor Day Monday, Sept. 7.
The special effort aims to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving and provide additional law enforcement patrols.
The STOP-DWI Labor Day weekend campaign is one of many statewide enforcement initiatives promoted by STOP-DWI New York and the NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
Other campaigns around the year target Halloween; Thanksgiving; the December holiday season; Super Bowl weekend; St. Patrick’s Day; 420 Drug Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; and the ‘100 Days of Summer’ through June, July and August.
