PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — Portsmouth City Schools is accepting applications to fill a vacant seat on its Board of Education after member Rebecca Kalb resigned Aug. 4, citing a change in family circumstances. “Since joining the Portsmouth City Schools Board of Education in January 2024, Mrs. Kalb has been a dedicated advocate for our students, staff, and community,” Superintendent Matthew McCorkle said in a statement. Board member J. Walker said the full board will review applications and decide on a replacement at its Aug. 27 meeting.
