New vice chair nominated after respected Sidmouth councillor resigns

At a meeting of Sidmouth Town Council on Monday, August 3, councillors began the process of electing a new vice chair following the resignation of Cllr Paul Dodds.
Opening the agenda item, chair of Sidmouth Town Council Cllr Hillary Nelson thanked Cllr Dodds for his work over the past 15 months.
She said: "He has been a truly exceptional vice chair, bringing constant energy and enthusiasm to his roles.
Cllr Nelson also thanked him personally for the support he had provided during her time as chair.
Cllr Nelson said Cllr Chris Lockyer, who was unable to attend the meeting because of a family wedding, had indicated he would be willing to serve as vice chair.
