The publisher celebrated this massive milestone on August 4 through the official Resident Evil X (formerly Twitter) account, less than two months after first unveiling the game at Summer Game Fest in June 2026. Thanking the community, Capcom shared a photo of the elderly French woman seen in the recent reveal trailer with a lighthearted message: "2 million biscuits for the 2 million of you who've wishlisted Resident Evil Veronica. Capcom has tasked the core creators and directors behind the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes with bringing this classic back to life. Utilizing the company's proprietary RE Engine, Capcom has confirmed the remake will be a third-person title directly in line with its recent modernizations.
