A Batesville man is facing charges after an investigation by the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. According to the Indiana State Police, the investigation began after receiving several tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about sexual abuse materials involving children tied to particular internet account. The investigation led them to 32-year-old Evan Werner of Batesville and a search warrant was served on Tuesday in Ripley County. Werner was taken into custody and is facing a preliminary felony charge of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. Also assisting in the investigation were Indiana State Police Investigation and Enforcement troopers from the Versailles post, the state police digital forensics unit, polygraph unit and the state police SWAT team.
