The city of North Vernon says unexpected work is going on at CSX Railroad crossings in the community. City officials say that they first learned of the project after work was already underway, which didn’t allow time to alert residents to the traffic problems. The railroad company is in the process of leveling the railroad lines and tracks at the Madison Avenue, 5th Street, 9th Street, and Brownstown Road crossings. City officials say that the work may cause temporary delays and inconvenience for drivers and urge patience while the maintenance is ongoing. The work is expected to be finished in the next few days.
