People are not allowed to water gardens, clean vehicles or fill paddling pools under restrictions imposed by Anglian Water four weeks ago. Anglian Water's previous ban was lifted after sustained, unusually heavy rainfall that helped replenish water resources following two dry winters. The restrictions were removed as groundwater levels recovered, easing pressure on supplies across the Anglian Water region. At the time, sources said the ban was lifted after heavy rainfall, good practice and water-saving efforts by customers and improvements in the company’s ability to store supplies. The company said the current hosepipe ban will stay in place until river and reservoir levels return to healthy levels.
