A yellow heat alert signals potential impacts across health and social care services, including a rise in deaths, particularly among those aged 65 and over or with health conditions. The alert also highlights an increased risk of water-related incidents, such as cold-water shock and drowning, and a likely increase in demand for health services. Households across the county have been banned from using their hosepipes since July 11, almost four weeks since Anglian Water first imposed the restrictions.
