Oldham Council has shared that Thornley Lane in Grotton was closed on Friday (August 7) due to the issue, which has been labelled an "urgent road closure." A spokesperson for Oldham Council said: "Thornley Lane in Grotton is currently closed due to a burst water main. United Utilities confirmed it had attended the scene and fixed the leak, with the road surface now looking to be reinstated. A United Utilities spokesperson said: "We received a report about a leaking stop tap on Thornley Lane, Grotton and have been out today to carry out the necessary repairs. "The leak is now fixed and we're working to reinstate the road surface and reopen the road as soon as possible.
