Chanderkote, an important transit point on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway, witnesses heavy movement of Shri Amarnath Yatra convoys every year as pilgrims proceed towards the Valley before reaching the holy cave shrine. The 29th batch crossed Chanderkote without any reported incident and continued towards the Kashmir Valley under security escort. The Amarnath Yatra attracts thousands of devotees from across India every year, who undertake the challenging Himalayan pilgrimage to seek blessings at the holy cave shrine.
