Turkmenistan has launched an online system allowing foreign citizens and their hosts to complete registration procedures without visiting migration service offices. This was announced by the press service of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan. The amendments modernized rules concerning the registration of foreign citizens and stateless persons at their place of stay, extension of their period of stay, and removal from registration. According to the migration service, “foreign citizens, as well as individuals and legal entities receiving them, can register foreign citizens through the online service without visiting the Service's offices.” The move toward online registration also forms part of Turkmenistan's broader efforts to digitize public services and introduce electronic document management.
