Hyderabad: App-based cab, auto, delivery and other gig workers across Telangana have threatened to go on an indefinite strike from August 8, demanding better fares, social security and regulation of platform companies. If the strike goes ahead, app-based transport and online delivery services could be affected across Telangana from Saturday. Strike was held on July 22The unions said nearly 3.90 lakh gig and platform workers participated in a statewide flash strike on July 22. They include app-based cab and auto drivers, delivery workers and others dependent on digital platforms for their livelihoods. They have also demanded immediate notification of the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Rules and constitution of a Welfare Board for gig and platform workers.
