Police were called to Brampton Services at 4.55pm on Wednesday (August 5) following reports of a suspicious package inside. A 100 metre police cordon was put in place and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) were called. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that an EOD team from Colchester Troop 621 Sqn, 11 EOD&S Regiment RLC responded to the incident. The EOD Operator identified the item as a hoax and the police cordon was removed by 9pm.
