BROMSGROVE CC suffered a 157-run defeat against title rivals in a top-of-the-table clash with the Boars all out for 163. Lye posted an imposing 320-9 from their 50 overs at Stourbridge Road before Bromsgrove suffered a dramatic batting collapse in reply to fall well short of the required total. The result means Bromsgrove sit third in the Worcestershire County League Premier Division table, 10 points behind leaders Lye. Bromsgrove won the toss and elected to field and made early inroads with the ball to leave Lye on 31-2. The Boars stuttered early in their reply as Lye reduced the visitors to 22-2 although opener Jayden Levitt (66) recorded a half-century.
