ALVECHURCH and Hopwood CC blasted more than 350 runs with the bat and skittled Himley 4ths for just 96 in a huge 257-run victory. Centuries from Charlie Bolton and Lee De Souza, the latter finishing unbeaten, saw Alvechurch reach 353-3 at the end of their 45 overs at Alvechurch Cricket Ground. The result means Alvechurch and Hopwood remain top of the Worcestershire County League Division Six (North) table. Reuben (4-26), Dunn (3-4), Battelley (2-22) and J Bolton (1-9) took the wickets as Alvechurch bowled Himley out for 96 in 29.2 overs. Alvechurch and Hopwood are next in action against Stourbridge 3rds on Saturday, August 8 with play to begin at 12.30pm at Kings Hawford.
