North Yorkshire farm hosts 24-hour sheep shear in memory of three young people

The Shear Aware Shear-athon and charity speed shear took place at Springhill Farm, near Masham, North Yorkshire, from Friday, July 31, until Saturday, August 1.
Shearers Andrew Bell-Percy and Richard Lancaster worked continuously for 24 hours, shearing more than 3,000 sheep to raise money and awareness for Brake, the UK Sepsis Trust and PAPYRUS.

PAPYRUS, the charity dedicated to preventing young suicide, was also supported in memory of 15-year-old Will Pedley, from Barbon, Cumbria, who died in 2025.
The Shear-athon concluded with a charity speed shear competition, followed by live music and refreshments.
