BRAINERD — Pine Beach East at Madden’s on Gull Lake, which opened in July 1926 as Minnesota’s first 18-hole resort golf course, will celebrate its 100th anniversary Aug. 14–17 with historic golf experiences and events open to resort guests, golf members and the public. Construction of Pine Beach Golf Course, now known as Pine Beach East, began in 1925, led by businessmen John Harrison and Chester Start.
