Summary John David Washington is set to star in and produce the upcoming supernatural horror thriller 'Mime' Nikyatu Jusu will direct the film based on an original spec screenplay written by Stephen Herman Sony Screen Gems acquired the feature project after competing against Amazon and SearchlightSony‘s Screen Gems has officially landed the rights to Mime, an upcoming supernatural horror thriller starring John David Washington.
Nikyatu Jusu, who made her feature directorial debut with the Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner Nanny, is attached to direct.
The screenplay was written by Stephen Herman based on his original spec concept, though specific storyline details are currently being kept under wraps.
Washington will also serve as a producer on the film alongside Tolmach’s partner Camila Grove.
Washington previously starred in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman, Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, Gareth Edwards’ The Creator, and most recently appeared in the 2024 drama The Piano Lesson.
